EDUCATION
Education isff a primary cornerstone of EPPS.  Staying current on PR issues and ahead of the trends is a critical component of success to a publicist.
As stated in the bylaws, EPPS provides members the methods and the means through which they can increase their knowledge of the profession and to stay current on technology advancements.
EPPS provides forums through which members can meet informally with key journalists and collect contact information. These help elevate publicistsí media relations base to the next level.
EPPS education events attract senior level executives ready to network with peers and share their experiences with the next generation of PR professionals.
EPPS educational opportunities are extensive and include:

* SCOOP, Seminars for the Savvy Publicist affiliation

Monthly Panel Discussions
Both the Los Angeles and New York chapters of EPPS conduct monthly meetings with cutting edge information relevant to the entertainment public relations profession.  The topics are comprehensive, attracting top-tier journalists.  Subjects include: TV Show Bookers, How to Successfully Pitch the Media, Media Distribution Strategies and Services, New Media, Media Tours and Freelance Journalists.  Guests have included bookers, editors and reporters from hundreds of outlets including Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, The Today Show, KTLA, Associated Press, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and Animation Magazine.
Meetings in Los Angeles are typically conducted at the headquarters of ICG (International Cinematographers Guild), the home of the ICG Publicists on Sunset Boulevard.  The New York chapter meetings take place at ICGís offices.
The One-Day Conference
Entertainment PRís movers and shakers gather at the comprehensive all-day workshop held in conjunction with Digital Hollywoodís three-day event in Santa Monica, the One-Day Conference offers back-to-back panels of entertainment PR case studies and tricks of the trade.  Speakers and panelists include journalists, celebrities, senior executives from major studios, TV networks, home video, music and more. This is a ìmust attendî event for anyone who works in entertainment PR.
Meet the Media Breakfasts
The Members-Only Breakfasts provide an intimate environment for publicists to cultivate relationships with key journalists. Limited seating assures that everyone in attendance has the opportunity to make valuable connections with featured speakers.
Meet the Mentor
Get the answers you really need to succeed. Meet the Mentor provides an informal opportunity to network one-on-one with senior PR executives.  Meet the Mentor sessions typically precede monthly panel discussions.  Participants get top-level advice on a current campaign, how to land a job, how to approach a specific media outlet, and more.  No question is off limits!
SCOOP, Seminars for the Savvy Publicist
Designed to accelerate the traditional public relations on-the-job training process, SCOOP delivers seminars with appeal for companies global to small. Individuals can jumpstart their careers in a six-hour intensive one-day program which features success examples based in the entertainment industry.  SCOOP has been endorsed by EPPS and serves as its Education Sponsor.  SCOOP is open to EPPS members at a discounted rate.  Seminar details at http://www.scoopseminars.com/.
Inside SCOOP Interviews
Authored by EPPS Education Chair Sandi Padnos, President, SCOOP, Seminars for the Savvy Publicists.  Every issue of the EPPS Connections newsletter contains a casual yet informative interview with a leader in the entertainment PR industry.  The senior executives who craft the messages behind the scenes are finally featured center stage to share lessons learned from long and varied careers.
